Wilderness Trek is a faith-based organization that helps teens, young adults, and families grow, through a wide variety of experiences in outdoor settings in Northern New Mexico, Colorado, Utah, and Texas. In 2021, they celebrated 45 years of operation, and their Director reached out to me to create a special logo to be used for shirts, patches, and stickers that they sell at their camp stores.
Initial Options
The client wanted the logo to be able to stand alone, so I opted to include “Wilderness Trek” as part of the logo. My initial options all had the following elements: “Wilderness Trek,” “45 Years,” “1967-2021,” and mountains resembling the United States Rocky Mountain Range.
While designing, I tried to keep in mind a few things – that these needed to be able to translate to shirts, stickers and buttons easily (and with minimal colors to save cost), and that they needed to work with Wilderness Trek’s brand logos.
Client Selection

The client liked this option, so I created an option that brought in one of the brand colors, and provided a black and white version and a color version for maximum versatility. I created different versions to help facilitate the creation of the collateral.
