Open Home: Interior & Exterior Holiday Signage

This project was a series of signs for Open Home, a carefully curated home goods store in Kansas City.

The client needed a design for 2-sided A-frame sign that they placed on the sidewalk in front of their storefront to attract traffic from the street. This meant I had to keep the message simple and readable from a distance.

They also wanted a series of small easel-backed signs that they could place among their displays. These signs contained gift suggestions (available at Open Home) for different personality types. These suggestions were made by Mary Schulte, the owner, creator, and curator behind Open Home.

In addition to the layout and typography, I illustrated a series of ornaments, using colors from Open Home’s brand palette.

I pulled out elements from the brand’s patterned motif to decorate the ornaments with, and created a contrasting pattern with just the basic ornament shapes.
