Everly: Email Series, Digital Ads & Social Media

Everly is a life insurance agency offering financial solutions and giving customers access to tools that help customers live with financial security. In 2021, I was contracted to design 2 series of three emails, digital ads, and social media marketing assets for Everly.

MVP Emails

This series of 3 evergreen emails were created for the customer acquisition and onboarding process; to help convert people that are showing interest in the services to customers. It consists of emails for the purposes of ‘Start Application,’ ‘Finish Application,’ and ‘Onboarding’. They would be sent automatically, according to each circumstance, to customers and potential customers to help guide them through the initial application and onboarding stages.

In order to help the developers create a responsive email design (one that maintains the right relationships between images and copy, no matter the size of the viewing window), I laid out each email in both Desktop and Mobile formats.

Start Application

The purpose of this email is acquisition – getting protentional customers to start the application process. Customized in development to display each person’s name, it pitches the potential financial benefits, shows personalized figures, and gives multiple call-to-action opportunities to start the application. I used the blue color block paired with the orange dividing line to help break of up the information into easily digestible portions.

Finish Application

The purpose of this email is to encourage potential customers who started the application process, but did not complete it, to go back and finish. It gives call-to-action prompts to finish the application and to contact customer service, both to encourage potential customers through the process.

Onboarding

The Onboarding email is automatically sent to customers whose application has been accepted. It gives directions, as well as call-to-action buttons to help customers begin to set up their accounts, familiarize themselves with how to access their accounts, and gives access to a rewards program.

The field for the name and the legal portion of the emails would be coded in at the development stage, so for the purposes of laying out the design and selecting styles, I used greek text as a placeholder.

Send Grid Emails

The Send Grid Emails were a series of 3 emails that would be automatically sent to customers in response to inquiries, provide guidance, and share informative articles, as well as personalized estimates to prompt new applications. As with the MVP Emails, I laid out each email in both Desktop and Mobile formats to help the developers code responsive design into the emails.

Quick Read Retirement Hedge

The Quick Read Retirement Hedge email was sent in response to inquiries via the Everly Life website. It provided call-to-action button links to an article on retirement hedges, and one to join the Everly Well-Being Rewards program, which promised further guidance and more articles on financial topics.

Learn More

The Learn More email was intended to encourage customers and potential customers to read more about what Everly Life can do for them. It encouraged them to sign up for the Everly Well-Being Rewards program and to fill out an application via call-to-action button links.

Your Saved Estimate

This email was created for potential customers to get them to apply. It led with the saved estimate message and then showed the estimate figures, followed by a prompt to start the application process. Then it went on to encourage them to sign up for the Everly Well-Being Rewards program and get more guidance and access to other financial articles.

DIGITAL ADS

Growth

Everly wanted a series of digital banners with the message of “growth”. They also planned to use these banners to test how well the illustration landed with their audience, so they requested a series with the illustrations, and one without, which also used a simpler form of the growth message.

Protection

The other message they wanted to convey was “protection”. As with “growth,” wanted to test the impact of the illustrations with their audience, so I created these two versions of the series.

Social Media Marketing

Everly also needed a series of banners for their social media channels. Integrating the illustrations and using an evergreen message, I created banners for their business pages on Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn.
