This project was for the Boy Scouts – Heart of America Council, as a part of their 2018 Annual Report. The HOAC Annual Reports share information with the public about finances, community service hours, leadership awards, and much more. I worked with a writer, a web/digital developer, and another art director from the Walz Tetrick creative team to bring this project to life. We came up with the theme of “Character in Action” to speak to the activities and the principles that make up the Scouts.

Illustrations

My part in the project started with creating individual illustrations representing the many facets of scouting. I created over 70 individual illustrations, and then we added a few more as needed in the poster and in the video.

Poster

Together with my team, we created a graphic that featured a hand in the scout salute, made up of these illustrations, featured at the end of the video and on the poster. This poster was mailed to Heart of America board members and council leadership, plus about 200 of their biggest donors and supporters.

Motion Graphic Video

Concepting with another art director on my team, I was tasked with creating this motion graphic video, which was featured on the web page, in an email, and on social media. The video’s purpose was to generate excitement and engagement, as well as to direct people to the website. This was my first motion graphics video project, having just taught myself the basics of Adobe After Effects, and it was thrilling to get to bring my illustrations life and excitement with motion.
